Bethany Scott, R.N, Birth Doula, Podcaster & Mom of 3
For the last 15 years, I have been dedicated to helping women and families happily, safely and confidently enter into their experience of birth. After graduating from Colorado State with a BS majoring in fashion, I soon found myself in NYC. It did not take long to leave the fashion world behind and follow my true calling in women's health. I became a birth doula though DONA International, and I loved my time supporting women and partners in a supportive, one on one, caring role. I knew I wanted to dive in more deeply. I attended Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing with a capstone focus on L&D and Motherbaby units.
I began my nursing career at Weill Cornell Hospital knowing my journey would be focussed in women's health, L&D and OB/GYN triage. My ultimate L&D experience came when I birthed my 3 little humans via C-sections. I combined my real life learning moments, birth prep (couldn’t find a c-section one so created it!) and the need for postpartum support in those early weeks. I think it’s fair to say I am a bit obsessed with the birth space and being a mama!
Lemontree babies is in honor of my babies because without them I wouldn’t have realized the magnitude of what REALLY becoming a mama is like.
