Because every mother has a unique birth journey, I take a collaborative approach to developing a tailored curriculum of educational programming, birth preparation classes and postpartum support to specifically address the needs, challenges and dynamics of each client.

Classes are normally held virtually via zoom but I am available for in-person sessions within Fairfield County, CT, Manhattan and Brooklyn, NY. Postpartum support is provided in the format most beneficial and convenient to the patient (in-person, zoom, phone, text)

Pricing for all services within each client’s custom curriculum is based on a fixed hourly rate of $100 / hr to ensure we work at the pace best suited to the individual’s needs.  Curriculums generally require a minimum of 5 hours for content and services, with additional support hours available on an ad-hoc basis.

Core Content Modules I draw from to develop a patient’s custom curriculum are:

  • The A-Z Course: Designed for first-time parents, this course is formulated chronologically to cover what to expect in early appointments through delivery and upon return home. Topics covered include: Key Medical Terms, Body Changes, Discomfort Management, Hospital Expectations, Signs of Labor, Labor & Delivery Process (Vaginal and C-Section), Recovery, Transitioning Home, Infant Safety and Navigating Breastfeeding. The class takes about 3 hours and includes a prepared curriculum, hands-on exercises and ample time for questions and discussion.

  • Planned C-Section Course: Designed for those anticipating a  planned C-Section –whether  due to medical needs, baby position, or multiples,  this course is formatted chronologically to cover what to expect in early appointments, during C-section delivery and upon return home. Topics covered include: Key Medical Terms, Body Changes, Discomfort Management, Hospital Expectations, Operating Room/Recovery, Home Recovery Essentials, Transitioning Home, Safety and Navigating Breastfeeding. The class takes about 3 and a half hours and includes a prepared curriculum, hands-on exercises and ample time for discussion and questions.

Following a mother’s successful delivery, my postpartum support services are designed to ensure the safe and healthy transition from pregnancy to newborn motherhood. Postpartum support services include:

  •  Reflecting on your birthing experience. Every birth is a journey but even with the utmost preparation, it’s important to talk through your individual birth experience to feel validated and to provide closure.

  • Safety Measures for mom. Keeping yourself safe in the weeks after hospital discharge until seeing your OB. Whether you deliver vaginally or by C-Section, putting mama first in recovery is vital to helping facilitate a smooth transition into motherhood.

  • Early Infant support. It is normal to feel nervous taking care of a brand new life but there are tips and tricks that make it a little less overwhelming.

  • Navigating Infant feeding. Breast or bottle, it is truly what is best for you. No one knows how it is going to go until you and baby work through this in a supportive way.
